Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist, and is a competitor with the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fighting sport career with a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko did well in the competition and was defeated by Suzane Miller in the finals with a unanimity. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007, and a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as the gold medal in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champion in 2016. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003 and won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won the fight via an unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002, during the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She took home in the second round of a TKO fight and her subsequent two bouts at the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003, resulting in her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to work on her kickboxing. She then was able to make her return against Anissa Haddaoui Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa with a unanimous vote, before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's striking skills were superior and let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Following this victory Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, to be fought by Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win with a unanimous decision. She lost her following fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss with a win over Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. This earned her the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner in her next 3-fights, losing to Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
