Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996, in Stavanger) is an Norwegian artist and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from music bloggers and the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry's endorsement of the song Runaway via a blog post brought the singer additional appreciation. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an instrument in her attic and becoming enthralled by the music it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to use music for development of her own, not to earn a living or an interest. In the end, she began writing the music she composed herself. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not gain acclaim for her work but to make those around them see their own importance and how they could impact the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument at the age of six. She began creating music after turning nine. Her family didn't be aware until fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. According to her, she enjoys writing songs. She claims that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
